Children: Thomas, March, General Putnam, Abel and Philip

He served under General Rufus Putnam and was commissioned a Lieutenant Colonel on January 1, 1777. Prior to his commission, he volunteered for the expedition against Canada and held the rank of Captain in the 16th Continental Infantry. Later in life, he lived in a double log house near the village of Delhi.
