Richard Earl Shaw
August 15, 1946 – January 5, 1968

Richard Earl Shaw was born in Delhi, New York, on August 15, 1946. He graduated from Delaware Academy in 1965 and attended Central City Business College for a year. Afterward, he worked for Western Electric Company in Syracuse.

Richard enlisted in the United States Army on July 10, 1967. He completed basic training at Fort Knox, Kentucky, and trained as a Medical Specialist at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. He arrived in Vietnam on December 16, 1967, serving with Headquarters Company, 4th Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division.

Private First Class Shaw was killed in action on January 5, 1968, in Tay Ninh Province, Vietnam. He is remembered for his service and sacrifice.
