David Fenton Telford

David Fenton Telford
December 12, 1842 – April 3, 1863

David Fenton Telford was born in Meredith, Delaware County, on December 12, 1842, the son of Charles and Jenette (Duff) Telford. Before the war, he worked as a farmer.

He enlisted on August 15, 1862, and was mustered into service on September 27, 1862, as a Corporal in Company C of the 144th New York Regiment.

During his service in the Civil War, David became ill with typhoid fever. He died on April 3, 1863, at Fairfax Seminary Hospital in Virginia.

He is remembered for his service and sacrifice.
